We've been in the shoe and boot business for decades, with our heritage in the industry dating back several generations.
Born in 1896 Garabed Rastian (2nd. generation) who was orphaned at a young age, due to the Armenian Genocide that began in 1915. Having learned the trade from his father, Garabed became a true "Old World" Master Cobbler, and a famous Boot Maker during World War I.
In 1966 Haciadur "Chris" Rastian (3rd. generation) also learning the trade from his father, decided to migrate his family to the "Promise Land" the United States of America. He worked "odd and end jobs" during the day, and attended adult school in the evenings to learn the English language. With hard work, loyalty, and dedication Chris pursued his lifelong passion to someday open his own store. In 1971 Chris being a Master European Craftsman established Star Shoe Service in Los Angeles, California. Chris now has over 70 years of experience as a Master Cobbler, and Shoe Retailer.
In more recent years, Mike Rastian (4th. generation) who as a young boy would help his father shine shoes and run the the cash register after school. Mike with his technological knowledge along with being fortunate to have learned the trade along the years, followed his fathers steps. He currently has over 35 years of experience in both Repair and Retail Sales. He is the current President of Star Shoe Service in Los Angeles, as well as the President & Founder of GotBootsOnline.com.

Another thing I like is the GotBoots people show attention to detail because the other day I placed an order with them for an ostrich belt to match a pair of boots I had bought from them and I did not notice that I had sized the width of the belt wrong, later that day my cell phone rang and the person on the other end said, 'Sir do you want the belt you ordered from us in a 1" width, because you normally order a 1 1/2 width?'
